1. Product Introduction
Special-shaped SmCo magnets are non-standard high-temperature rare-earth permanent magnets. Different from standard block and disc magnets, they are custom processed into special profiles such as arcs, steps, holes and grooves according to equipment structural requirements. Featuring stable magnetic performance at high temperatures and excellent oxidation resistance, they are ideal for narrow and high-temperature installation spaces.
For detailed grade parameters, please refer to our SmCo Magnet Performance Chart.
2. Main Special-Shaped Types
Arc / Sector Magnetic TilesSpecially designed for high-temperature brushless motors and servo motors.
Polygonal Special ShapesL-shaped, trapezoidal and T-shaped magnets widely used for high-temperature tooling positioning jigs.
Composite Special Shapes with HolesIntegrally processed with countersunk holes and through holes for screw locking and mechanical installation.
Step / Slotted Special ShapesSuitable for embedded high-temperature instruments and microwave components.
Custom Irregular ShapesInjoined structures, oblique cutting and ultra-thin customized profiles for non-standard equipment.
3. Grades & Temperature Resistance
SmCo5 (1:5 Series): Max operating temperature 250℃, suitable for medium and small high-temperature sensing equipment.
Sm₂Co₁₇ (2:17 Series): 300℃~350℃, applied in aerospace, petroleum industry and long-term ultra-high-temperature working conditions.
Key Features: Low temperature coefficient, excellent demagnetization resistance, and natural oxidation resistance without electroplating coating.
4. Core Advantages
Ultra-high Temperature ResistanceExtremely low magnetic attenuation under high-temperature environments, far superior to high-temperature resistant NdFeB magnets.
Corrosion & Oxidation ResistanceNo coating required for humid and oil-gas working environments.
Full Custom ShapingPerfectly fit irregular high-temperature mounting positions and simplify equipment structure.
Integrated Mechanical StructureIntegrated countersunk holes and slots enable firm mechanical fixing without glue failure under high heat.
Stable Temperature AdaptabilityStable performance under alternating cold and hot environments with minimal magnetic fluctuation.
5. Application Scenarios
Widely used in high-temperature servo motors, aerospace parts, petroleum downhole instruments, high-temperature sensors, vacuum equipment, microwave devices, military testing instruments and chemical high-temperature magnetic tooling.
6. Usage Precautions
SmCo material is highly brittle. Chamfering is recommended for sharp corners and thin-wall structures to prevent edge chipping during processing and assembly.
Select the 2:17 series for long-term working temperatures above 200℃.
Special-shaped SmCo magnets require complex processing procedures, resulting in longer lead time and higher unit price than standard SmCo magnets.
7. Our Service
We provide custom special-shaped SmCo magnets according to drawings or samples. Our professional engineers support grade selection and structural optimization. Both small-batch prototyping and large-scale mass production are available with reliable OEM customized services.
